02 / THE ARTIST
From skin
to canvas.
Brian Pittman’s work bridges realism, portraiture, and the surreal. A self-taught painter for over 20 years and a professional tattoo artist for 25, he brings a precise eye and an instinct for the unexpected to every piece.
Working primarily in oils, Brian draws on Baroque light and shadow, Renaissance form, and the expressive linework of traditional Japanese art. His paintings move between lifelike portraits and imagined worlds, always led by detail, emotion, and a deeply personal point of view.
